Dear partners, it gives me great pleasure to address you personally and to introduce myself to you. The first weeks of my work as Managing Director of Tourismus Salzburg GmbH and thus also of Salzburg Congress have been eventful and intense. Taking on this comprehensive and responsible position is both an exciting challenge and a pleasure for me: as a passionate tourism expert with Bavarian roots and a predilection for the international stage, I have been continuing the work of my predecessor Mr. Bert Brugger since 1 October this year. Times change and so do the challenges involved. The past few years have shown that the world can change radically in a matter of weeks and months, that plans become obsolete and new concepts are required. But crises aside, it is the industry itself – tourism and the congress industry as part of it – that requires foresight, flexibility and creativity. Travelling and the exchanges associated with it - in social as well as scientific terms - reflect the needs and values of people and all their experiences, especially in recent years: dynamic and proactive ways of responding to this will define the work here in Salzburg in the coming years. The importance of the congress industry in and for Salzburg cannot be overestimated. In order to remain competitive internationally, we will adapt to prevailing trends: digitalisation will be a major topic, but also New Work as well as strong collaboration. The partnership-based collaboration with our clients, as it has been the practised so far, will continue to be a top priority for me and the entire team. I look forward to meeting you in person and to a successful future together.
