Accessibility statement Salzburg Congress

This statement was created on 29 September 2025. The assessment of the website's compliance with the Web Accessibility Act implementing the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was carried out in the form of an external accessibility audit according to WCAG 2.1 at conformity level AA in August 2025.

TSG Tourismus Salzburg GmbH strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as amended, which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.salzburgcongress.at/

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Conformance Level AA, and the corresponding European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not fully accessible for the following reasons:

a) Non-compliance with accessibility regulations

  • Not all images are provided with meaningful alternative text. As a result, some links lack descriptive link text. (WCAG 1.1.1; 2.4.4)
  • The pages do not always have a consistent heading structure, and text is not always optimally organised. Some text is visually styled as a heading and serves as one, but is not semantically marked up as such. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • Inline links are not always underlined and may therefore be difficult to distinguish from the surrounding text. (WCAG 1.4.1)
  • The breadcrumb navigation does not meet minimum contrast requirements. (WCAG 1.4.3; 1.4.11)
  • Zoom is disabled on mobile devices. (WCAG 1.4.4)
  • The navigation cannot be expanded using a screen reader or keyboard and is therefore not fully operable. The fixed side navigation and the media player also have limitations in keyboard accessibility. (WCAG 2.1.1)
  • In the cookie banner, the focus order has not been implemented correctly. (WCAG 2.4.3)
  • The visible focus indicator is insufficient for certain interactive elements in some browsers, affecting navigation, toggle switches in the cookie banner, and the media player. (WCAG 2.4.7)
  • Form error handling is not consistently implemented. (WCAG 3.3.1)
  • For screen reader users, the status of toggle buttons that expand or collapse content (e.g. the mobile menu) is not clearly conveyed. Some form fields, galleries and iframes lack appropriate labels. (WCAG 4.1.2)

b) Content outside the scope of the applicable legislation

    • Videos made available on the platform that were published before 23 September 2020 are exempt from the applicable requirements.
    • Content provided by third parties that is outside our sphere of influence is also exempt under Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made regarding the accessibility of such third-party content.
